How Long Does the Cotswold Way Route Take?
The Cotswold Way route stretches approximately 160 km or 100 miles from Chipping Campden in the north to Bath in the south, following the western escarpment of the Cotswold Hills. Most walkers complete the route in 7 to 9 days, averaging around 11 to 14 miles per day with comfortable overnight stops in villages and towns along the way. Fastpackers may complete the Cotswold Way in around 5 days, while experienced trail runners can tackle the full route in as few as 4 days.

The route offers open escarpment walking, ancient woodland, honey-stoned villages and sweeping views across the Severn Vale. The Best Time to Walk the Cotswold Way Route
May and June are excellent months for long daylight, fresh woodland and colourful villages. July and August suit summer walking but accommodation can be busy. September is often settled and quieter, while October brings dramatic autumn colour along the escarpment. Winter is possible on many sections, though mud, short days and seasonal accommodation closures require careful planning.
